Local Music Station WTMD to Host Family-Friendly Concerts

wtmd_saturdaymorningtunesDo you crave cutting-edge music even as you’re singing lullabies to your little ones at night? If so, you’ll be happy to hear that WTMD, Baltimore’s local independent music station, is launching a new concert series for families called Saturday Morning Tunes.

“I kept hearing from people who wanted to come to WTMD shows but couldn’t because they have small kid and our concerts are always during lunchtime—right before naptime—or in the evening, the witching hour. So I thought: why not do a live show for kids?” says Sam Sessa, WTMD’s Baltimore Music Coordinator.

WTMD has invited musicians to Saturday Morning Tunes that will make both kids and their caregivers want to get up and dance. Bilingual artist 123 Andres just won a 2016 Latin Grammy for Beat Children’s Album. Joanie Leeds received rave reviews in the New York Times, Washington Post, and People Magazine. And the high-energy duo Baby Beats has been called “a really cool beatboxing duo” from Baltimore.

So, if you’re looking for a fun way to get out and spend some time with the kids on a Saturday morning, reserve tickets for one of these family-friendly shows (January show already sold out!) at WTMD’s Towson-based performance studio—a safe, clean space with comfortable furniture that can be climbed on, and even stainless steel changing tables for audiences’ convenience.

Details:

Saturday, January 21, 2017: 9am – 11am Joanie Leeds (sold out)

Saturday, February 4, 2017: 9am – 11am 123 Andres

Saturday, March 18, 2017: 9am – 11am, Baby Beats

Kids under two are free.
