Touch Down

Our pods arrived in Salt Lake City on Wednesday afternoon. When we packed them in Baltimore, I ended up going to the ER the next day which happened to be our last day in B’more. Not the way I wanted to leave Charm City, but talk about going out with a bang.

Leah duty, the early days

The severe chest pain and left arm pressure and numbness I experienced was muscular, and caused by me overdoing it. As a result, I am now under strict orders to not lift anything heavy, so when we arrived in Salt Lake City, I was on Leah and unpacking duty.

(And let’s be real, I was already under these orders, but I’m an Aries and I’m all about getting shit done.)

Back to Leah. This girl cried for two hours and I couldn’t do anything until she actually fell asleep. Sure, she’s sweet and precious. But when she’s screaming and crying her head off, she’s an absolute monster. An ABSOLUTE monster! A cute monster, but a monster.
I completely understand and fully appreciate the book “Go the F**k to Sleep.”

Prior to our move, I kept asking my mother-in-law if she was really prepared to have us live with her. Every time, and without hesitation, she responded with a yes. This 77-year-old woman has lived alone for the past 14 years saw her occupancy rate increase by 400% and she’s all smiles and is handling it better than I would. The numerous boxes don’t phase her one bit. The baby furniture, children’s library, and children’s toys that took over her basement look like they’ve been there for years. She’s a champ… a bingwa, just like her daughter. Our multigenerational household is slowly coming along and beginning to feel like home.

The family in B’More

Oh, and my crazy oldest brother is here, as is my uncle whom I hadn’t seen in three years. They arrived a few hours after we landed on Monday. Their early arrival is a pretext to life with the S’mores. People just show up at our doorstep and we welcome them with open arms. Shortly after they arrived, we put them to work and they haven’t stopped since.

We’ll soon be ready for more visitors, because what’s home without sharing it with people you love? Come on out!
