On Feb. 1, WTMD and The Charm City Bluegrass Festival will team up to present an intimate evening of acoustic music and screen a new documentary about the festival. It’s a celebration of folk, Americana and acoustic music and history in Baltimore. The evening will begin with the documentary screening and continue with live performances by the Ken & Brad Kolodner Trio and The Honey Dewdrops.
The documentary short film, about 30 minutes in length, chronicles the growth of the Charm City Bluegrass Festival intertwined with the story and history of bluegrass music in the city of Baltimore. The film, written and directed by Marc Shapiro and produced by Caplan and Green Productions, includes interviews with the founders of the Charm City Bluegrass Festival as well as national and local musicians who have made a mark on bluegrass history. The film highlights The Lone Bellow, Cabinet and Dustbowl Revival and Billy Strings, among others.
This event is sponsored in part by Flying Dog Brewery. The Charm City Bluegrass Festival will host its 6th annual festival at Druid Hill Park on April 27-28, 2018.
Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Tickets are available on MISSIONTIX at https://www.mt.cm/evening-charm-city-bluegrass-feat-honey-dewdrops-and-ken-brad-kolodner-trio
