Learn about the tribes of Maryland on Native American Indian Heritage Day on Friday, November 24th from 9:30 AM – 5 PM at Port Discovery Children’s Museum.
In celebration of the official State of Maryland Native American Indian Heritage Day Holiday, Port Discovery, the Governor’s Office of Community Initiatives, and the Baltimore American Indian Center have partnered to present this important public event for all Marylanders and visitors.
Members of the Piscataway and Lumbee tribes and representatives from the Baltimore American Indian Center will educate visitors with Native American storytelling, interactive Cultural Dance programs, Native American art activities and demonstrations. A traditional ceremony to honor this important holiday and celebrate Maryland’s indigenous communities will also be held as part of the event.
