B&O Railroad Museum
Reading on the Rails
FREE for Grades 1 – 4
The B&O’s Reading on the Rails program promotes literacy, helping children to stay on track with their reading and writing skills during the summer months. Set against the industrial backdrop of railroading, the program encourages children to explore storytelling through a number of independent and group activities.
For years the B&O has existed as a staple for growth and learning within West Baltimore. Seeking to continue to provide learning opportunities for Baltimore area youth, the B&O’s Reading on the Rails program blends literacy success with the industrial backdrop and S.T.E.A.M. focus of the B&O’s campus.
