gene wilderGene Wilder, beloved film star and comedy giant, died today at the age of 83. His most iconic role is likely that of the title character in “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory,” where his whimsical, yet also gentle and serious, portrayal became an integral part of many childhoods.

Beyond “Willy Wonka,” Wilder was also known for his Mel Brooks collaborations, like “The Producers,” “Blazing Saddles” and—one of my all-time favorite movies—”Young Frankenstein.”

He will be missed. So, grab your nearest copy of “Willy Wonka,” or even just enjoy this clip, and remember the joy of Gene Wilder.
