Ah, to be young again. Not only do kids get summers off, but there are so many cool summer camp and program opportunities available to indulge their passions, pique their interests or simply serve as a safe and nurturing place to make new friends.

For 22 years, the Baltimore’s Child Camp and Summer Programs Fair has been making it easy for busy parents to get the scoop on local and regional summer camps. We bring together representatives from loads of area camps and summer programs under one roof, then invite families to find out everything they need to know about them. It’s a win-win for camps and potential campers. At this year’s fair, we hosted representatives from 58 area camps and summer programs and welcomed hundreds of area families. One lucky attendee even won a $250 scholarship to the (participating) camp of her choice!

I was fortunate enough to visit with many of the camp representatives at the fair and, what can I say? Sometimes I wish I were a kid again. Who wouldn’t love to go to Circus Camp Stars and learn how to juggle and walk on stilts? I would. How about Tiyul Outdoor Adventures, featuring an immersive farm and forest experience where you eat what you grow? Count me in. And what kid wouldn’t want to board the Pride of Baltimore II and trace the nautical course of a War of 1812 Baltimore privateer? Yes, now there’s even a Young Privateers Summer Program for kids. I could go on and on.

So, for those who shared the afternoon with us at the Timonium Radisson Hotel for our 22nd Annual Baltimore’s Child Camp and Summer Programs Fair, thank you! And for those who missed it, be sure to check it out next year. You won’t believe all the cool things kids can do in the summer.

  1. Hello,
I missed the fair. Is there a way to get a list of the participants and their contact information or/and locations?
    Thank you,
    Sasha

    • Hi. While we don’t have a precise list of the vendors from the camp, you can visit our website and, under the directories navigation bar, you will see a drop-down menu that lists summer camps and programs. Thanks, and good luck.
