Aviation Museum Open Cockpit Day Season Launching

Saturday, May 18 is the launching of the 2019 Open Cockpit Day season at the Glenn L. Martin Maryland Aviation Museum from 9am to 1pm. This special event provides up close visitor experiences with airplanes offering a glimpse inside of aircraft on the Museum’s outdoor flightline. See inside of a jet fighter plane, explore inside of a Huey helicopter, go on board a 1952 Martin 404 passenger airliner and climb into a B-57 Canberra built in Middle River by the Glenn L. Martin Company. The last bus to the airplanes departs at 12pm. Explore the indoor exhibits of the Maryland Air National Guard, Maryland Astronauts, Rosie the Riveters and the Glenn L. Martin Company WWII homefront employees. Make it a day of museum aviation fun at Martin State Airport, 701 Wilson Point Rd 21220. Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for children. Pack the sunhat, sun lotion and comfortable walking shoes and plan to spend the morning at this airport museum. Before or after you explore the aircraft flightline, visit the flea market vendors outside rain or shine 8am to 1pm, a good place for shopping unique and bargain finds.
