Conductor Mario Venzago leads the Orchestra in Ravel’s hypnotic Bolero, a kaleidoscope of different orchestral colors that build to a thrilling conclusion, and the Rapsodie espagnole, which ranges from sultry evocations of Spanish nights to vivid daylight fiestas. Pianist Conrad Tao returns to the BSO to perform Liszt’s breathtaking First Piano Concerto. The program also includes Berlioz’s dazzling overtures, Le corsaire and Roman Carnival Overture, capturing the colors and excitement of the Carnival season in Rome.
