Family Nature Play Day

Date(s) - Sunday, August 18, 2019
10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Cromwell Valley Park

Outdoor games, guided trail walks, stream-searching, mud face painting, song circles, storytelling, live animal encounters, and natural art experiences are all part of the fun! Choose your outdoor adventures from a rotating schedule of activities and guided experiences. Nature-based educators will help you dig into all kinds of nature play you’re sure to love – in rain or shine!

Open-ended activities are available throughout the event, but there are also special guided activities that rotate every 30 minutes. (Did someone say puppet show…stream searches…bunnies…yoga?!) Check back for complete event schedule or get your tickets now!

Have your face painted with mud paints, make nature crowns and wands, craft a tree instrument, create tree spirits and fairy homes with loose parts, venture on a Summer Scavenger Hunt, and much more! You can also learn about local forest and nature programs and schools in our Outdoor Learning Adventures area.

And don’t miss our raffle of a “nature play pack” full of fantastic nature play experiences and products donated by generous local businesses. All proceeds will benefit the Eastern Region Association of Forest and Nature Schools, Inc.

This is a zero-waste event so please bring a cup or water bottle. Food vendors, treats, and ‘wheely good’ smoothie bike will be on hand if you want to grab a bite in the shade, or feel free to bring a picnic.
