Israela Meyerstein, LCSW-C, has been counseling families, couples, and individuals for forty five years, and has taught Family and Couples Therapy to professionals of varied disciplines. As co-founder of the Baltimore Jewish Healing Network, Israela co-led Spiritual/Study Discussion groups for those facing serious illness. To help patients, family members, caregivers, and health care professionals she wrote Bridge to Healing; Finding Strength to Cope with Illness.
Israela’s newest book, Miracle Nation: Seventy Stories about the Spirit of Israel, shares inspiring stories about exceptional individuals doing humanitarian tikkun olam work in Israel and around the world. Heartwarming stories about efforts to improve the lives of Jews and Arabs, apply technology to third world problems, and seek peaceful coexistence with neighbors, show Israel’s resilient, creative, caring, and hopeful spirit, and why Israela considers it a Miracle Nation.
